Why, yes, it’s less than half an hour to midnight, November 1, the start of National Novel Writing Month.
It’s the NaNoLoGo
If you haven’t heard, participants pledge to write 50,000 words of an original novel during the month of November. Now, 50,000 words isn’t quite really a novel (unless it’s a cheesy light novel featuring a heroine with cat ears and E-cup boobies), but it’s a heck of a start.
Yes, I’m playing again this year.
My project is a Space Opera with the working title “Go Wild.” That’s not going to be the real title; it’s just a reminder to myself to let my imagination run with it. The future is going to be a LOT weirder than we think. Hopefully that will get in there.
(I’ve been prepping by reading Samuel “Chip” Delany. Man, he can write. But he also saw some seriously weird stuff coming!)
That’s Professor Delany to you (and me)
This will affect my anime watching time, of course. Tonight I’ll be putting something I’ve already seen a dozen times, possibly The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, into the Blu-Ray and letting it run, just for noise.
So, the sake is chilling in the fridge, my fingers are as ready as they’re going to get, there’s a sack of pretzels open, and my notes rubber-banded together in easy reach. Fifteen minutes to the start!

See you in December. I mean, I’ll have my regular posts, but I won’t be hanging here a lot. I’ll be typing!
